My Tia-in-law made these when we were in Mexico and I loved them...I decided to attempt them myself and they were SO extremely simple to make and we all loved them! If I can do this I can guarantee that almost anyone can! Read more ! Have fun and I hope you like them!
Ingredients:
cooking oil
flour tortilla's (see below!!!!)
mix together in small bowel, and set aside
1 tbs. ground cinnamon (more or less)
1 cup granulated sugar (more or less)
Directions:
1. You can buy the tortilla mix at the store and then follow the very simple directions on the bag...all you need to add to the mix is warm water and you will need to cover the dough with a damp towel and allow it to rest for 15 minutes before rolling it. Once the tortillas are rolled out you can go onto the next step!
2. Fill a pan about a 1/2 an inch deep with cooking oil and place on stove over Medium-High heat.
3. Once hot, place a tortilla in carefully and fry on each side only a few seconds until golden brown (the tortilla will bubble up, you want this to happen, so don't freak out!) LoL!
4. Remove the tortilla from pan when done and place on a paper towel.
5. Sprinkle a bit of the cinnamon-sugar on both sides.
6. Repeat the entire process with each tortilla, Enjoy!
7. NOTE: You can also cut the tortillas into triangles and get the same result only smaller, good for the kids!!!! I have also had these with powdered sugar in place of the cinnamon and sugar and dipped in honey! Have fun with them and find your own favorite way of eating them!!
