Adapted from Better Homes and Gardens. I don't know why it is called Sonoma. Ingredients:
4 slices sourdough bread |
4 ounces white cheddar cheese, sliced |
1 large tomato, sliced thin |
8 large fresh basil leaves |
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar |
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil |
1 teaspoon fresh basil or 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped |
Directions:
1. Place bread on a baking sheet and broil 1 to 2 minutes, on each side, to toast. 2. Top with cheese slices and broil until cheese begins to melt, 1 to 2 minutes; remove from oven. 3. Top with slice tomato and basil leaves. 4. In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar and oil; sprinkle over toasts. 5. Garnish with chopped basil or parsley. |
