Sonja Henie was an international Norwegian skater and filmstar. I have no idea why these butterry nut coated cookies were named for her. Recipe found in a old United Nations cookbook! Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
2 eggs separated |
2 cups flour |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar.
2. Add yolks beating until light and fluffy
3. Blend in the flour
4. Roll dough into 1 inch balls
5. Dip in egg white and then into nuts.
6. Place on a cookie sheet
7. Make a depression in the center
8. Bake at 300F for about 20 minutes
