This has a lot of ingredients in it, but after a lot of experimenting, I've found that this makes a really wonderful combination for a chili. I make this at least once a month and my bf and I enjoy it every time. So I wanted to share it with the Zaar community and also put it here for safe-keeping. Enjoy! Ingredients:
1 1/4 lbs ground turkey |
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1 onion, chopped |
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped |
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped |
1/2 yellow bell pepper, chopped |
1 (16 ounce) can dark red kidney beans |
1 (16 ounce) can pinto beans |
1 (16 ounce) can black beans |
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes |
1 tablespoon ketchup |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
2 tablespoons chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon oregano |
1/2 teaspoon cumin |
1/2 teaspoon paprika |
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or slightly less) |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1/4-1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 cups water |
Directions:
1. Brown ground turkey, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, chopped green, yellow, and red bell peppers over medium-high heat in a Dutch oven or large saucepan. until meat is browned. Drain, if desired and return to pan. 2. Add the 3 cans of beans, the can of diced tomatoes, the ketchup, the brown sugar, and all of the spices, plus the water. Stir to combine and bring to a boil. 3. Reduce heat to medium, cook uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. |
