These soft cookies are quite a delight and so flavorful! I hope you like them as much as I do. Ingredients:
1c+1tbsp white sugar |
1 tsp baking powder |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/2 tsp baking soda |
1/2 tsp cinnamon |
1/4 tsp nutmeg |
1/2 c applesauce |
2 tbsp milk |
1 tsp vanilla extract |
2-3 tbsp maple syrup |
1 egg |
2 c whole wheat flour |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 2. In large bowl, combine first six ingredients (set aside the 1 tbsp of sugar) and blend well so that the baking soda and powder are mixed in and there are no little chunks of them, then add the next 5 ingredients and mix well. 3. Stir in whole wheat flour. 4. Spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. 5. This is optional but I like to use that leftover sugar to sprinkle on top the cookies before you bake them. 6. Just so they don't spread out to much during baking, I like to put the cookie sheet with spooned cookie dough in the refrigerator for about five minutes then bake. 7. Bake in pre-heated oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. |
