I made these for thanksgiving instead of rolls....BIG hit!! Ingredients:
1/2 cup warm water |
1 1/2 tbsp yeast |
1 tbsp sugar |
3/4 cup milk |
1 1/2 tbsp sugar |
1 tsp salt |
1 egg-beaten |
2-3 cups flour |
topping |
1 cube butter-melted |
1 tsp dill weed |
1/2 tsp garlic salt |
Directions:
1. Mix 1st 3 ingredients together and let raise. 2. Mix milk, sugar, salt egg and flour with the yeast mixture. 3. Mix well and let stand 15 minutes 4. Roll on floured counter into a rectangle. 5. Cut into 1/2 inch strips (small end of rectangle) 6. Fold in half and twist. 7. Place on buttered cookie sheet. 8. Raise until double. 9. Melt butter and add dill and garlic salt. 10. Brush 1/2 on bread sticks and bake 350 until lightly brown. 11. Brush on remaining butter and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. |
