This is a staple in just about any Cuban dish. It's as common in Cuban cuisine as ginger is to Asian and tomatoes are in Italian. It can be used to enhance a sauce or marinade or to saute prior to cooking a meat dish. Extremely simple and versitile Ingredients:
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 yellow onion |
1 bell pepper |
4 garlic cloves |
1 tablespoon salt |
1 tablespoon black pepper |
3 basil leaves |
Directions:
1. Blend all of the ingredients together in a food processor 2. Seal in an airtight container. |
