We all have these ingredients in our pantry. I love the tast of professional icing not the store bought stuff, so I asked around and here is what a lady that's been making cakes for years uses. And it is so easy and really good!! Ingredients:
2 lbs powdered sugar |
2 1/2 cups shortening |
3/4 cup water |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract or 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract |
Directions:
1. Add salt to the water. 2. Mix shortening & powdered sugar together, add the water a little bit at a time. Continue to cream until you get the consistency you like. 3. Add the extract a couple drops at a time until you get the flavor you like.**This recipe makes alot of icing, so refrigerate what you don't use. |
