Cut from a women's magazine many years ago. As I remember, it was an American recipe and the title had some significance. Maybe someone here can enlighten! Ingredients:
one baked pastry shells (9-inch) |
1/4 cup white sugar |
1 pinch salt |
3 tablespoons butter |
1/2 cup hershey's cocoa |
1/3 cup cornstarch |
3 cups milk |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
sweetened whipped cream (to garnish) |
Directions:
1. Combine cocoa, sugar, salt and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Gradually blend in milk, stirring until smooth. 2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until filling boils. Boil for 1 minute. 3. Remove from heat. Blend in butter and vanilla. Pour into pie crust. 4. Carefully press cling wrap directly on to pie filling. Cool then chill for 3-4 hours. Garnish with whipped cream. |
