I make this every Christmas. Don't let the ingredients or directions fool you. It is very easy to make. Definitely decadent! Great addition to your Christmas cookie tray. Ingredients:
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1/4 cup butterscotch chips |
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter |
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter |
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup milk |
1/4 cup butter |
1 1/2 cups marshmallow creme |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 cups peanuts |
1 lb caramel candy, unwrapped |
2 tablespoons water |
1/4 cup butterscotch chips |
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter |
Directions:
1. For the first layer, melt over low heat in a saucepan the first three ingredients, mixing well. 2. Pour into a greased 9x13 cake pan. 3. Allow to cool. 4. For the second layer, melt over low heat the next 1/4 cup peanut butter, sugar, milk and butter. 5. Bring to a low boil and boil slowly for 5 minutes. 6. Remove from the heat and add the marshmallow cream and vanilla. 7. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth. 8. Pour into the cake pan. 9. Sprinkle with the peanuts. 10. Allow to cool. 11. For the third layer, melt over low heat in a saucepan the 2 tablespoons water and the caramels. 12. Mix frequently until the caramels are melted. 13. Drizzle over the peanut layer and allow to cool. 14. For the last layer, melt over low heat in a saucepan the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and peanut butter. 15. Pour over the caramel layer. 16. Allow to cool. 17. When completely cooled, cut into 1 inch pieces. 18. Store in the refrigerator. |
