We used to make these all the time. mom would give my brother and I each a bowl with cinnamon and sugar coating in it and we each got to shake the cookies. Those were the days. Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
2 tsp cream of tartar |
1 1/2 cup sugar |
1 tsp baking soda |
2 eggs |
2t ground cinnamon |
2 3/4 cup sifted flour |
2 t sugar |
Directions:
1. Mix shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs and blend well. 2. Add flour, cream of tartar and baking soda then chill dough. 3. Mix cinnamon and 2 T sugar in a plastic resealable container. 4. Roll into balls the size of a walnut and place in container. 5. Replace lid and shake to coat balls in sugar & cinnamon. 6. Remove from container and shake off excess and place 2 inches apart on un-greased cookie sheet. 7. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes. |
