Everyone always asks, What's a snickerdoodle? Well, they're sugar cookies rolled in cinnamon. Gold Medal flour is always the best for cookies, by the way. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter-flavor shortening |
1/2 cup butter |
1 1/2 cup sugar |
2 lightly beaten eggs |
2-3/4 cup self-rising flour (or 3 cups for less stickiness) |
2 tablespoons sugar |
2 tsp cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400. 2. Blend first 3 ingredients; add eggs, mixing till smooth. 3. Gradually add flour (more flour for easy handling, less flour for better taste). 4. Blend 2 Tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in a plate or on wax paper. 5. Roll batter into balls then roll each ball in cinnamon and sugar blend. 6. Bake 8-10 minutes. 7. I usually make 4 dozen cookies. |
