This tasty southern dish if full of flavor and essence! Perfect as a side or main course. Ingredients:
1 head of green cabbage, chopped |
1 onion, diced |
1 garlic cloves, minced |
2 spring onions, chopped |
3 - 4 hot sausage links, or 6 slices of thick bacon |
salt and pepper to taste |
ground parsley or fresh just a little for color |
1 tsp creole seasoning |
splash of white wine vinegar |
pinch of sugar |
Directions:
1. In a pot brown sausage or bacon and slice into bite size pieces. Save drippings. 2. Add onions, garlic, spring onions and white wine vinegar. 3. Add cabbage and seasoning, spices, herbs and sugar. 4. Lower heat when cabbage begins to wilt. Do not let the cabbage liquid dry up completely. If it does add a little butter. 5.
