Smokin' Joe Jones is a San Diego BBQ expert... a Southern Import who has made a real impression on the national grill and BBQ scene. His products are wonderful, his personality is delightful, his classes are way-instructional and his recipes are simple and time-tested. This recipe is so easy and so good I just had to post it. I could make these beans in my sleep, I've prepared them so many times. Enjoy! And No, I don't work for the guy. I just met him once! Ingredients:
1 quart beans (pinto, red, kidney or your own favorite type of beans) |
2 cups good quality barbecue sauce (smokin' joe jones' sauces...there are many...are the best.) |
1/2 cup fresh sweet onion, chopped |
4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (optional) |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Gently mix all ingredients in an oven-safe bean pot. 3. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. 4. Serve with any bbq or grilled meat, along with chilled coleslaw and some french fries. 5. Have extra warmed BBQ sauce on hand at the table, along with lots of napkins or wet-wipes. 6. Enjoy! |
