I came up with this sauce for my wood smoker. It works on the barbecue, as well, or even as a marinade. I like to keep this in a sealed jar in the refrigerator until I'm ready to use it. Ingredients:
1 (18 ounce) bottle barbeque sauce |
1/2 (8 ounce) jar salsa |
1/2 cup soy sauce |
3/4 cup packed brown sugar |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
1 tablespoon crushed garlic |
1 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper |
salt to taste |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, stir together the barbeque sauce, salsa, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, ground black pepper, and salt. Store in a jar in the refrigerator until ready to use. Use as a marinade or a basting sauce when smoking meats or fish. |
