Cheap, easy, and it will take you back to your childhood. What could be better than that? Ingredients:
1lb lean ground beef |
1 medium onion, finely chopped |
1/2 large red bell pepper, seeded and finely chopped |
1 large rib celery, finely chopped |
1 clove garlic, minced |
1 (6oz) can tomato paste |
2t cider vinegar, or more as needed |
2t firmly packed brown sugar, light or dark |
1 tsp paprika |
1/2 tsp dry mustard |
1 tsp salt |
1 tsp chili powder |
1/2 tsp pepper |
1tsp worcestershire sauce |
dash of hot sauce |
small pinch cayenne |
hamburger buns for serving |
Directions:
1. In a large, nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, brown the beef with the onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic. 2. When the meat is cooked through, transfer the contents of the skillet to the slow cooker/ 3. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. 4. Cover and cook on low for 6 or 7 hours. 5. Taste and add more vinegar or brown sugar, if desired. |
