This is a very simple recipe that comes out moist and savory every time. You really can season this any way you like. Ingredients:
2 1/2 lbs whole chickens |
poultry seasoning (season to your liking) |
1 onion |
2 -3 garlic cloves |
1/2 cup dry red wine |
Directions:
1. Place 3 4 inch balls of aluminum foil in bottom of slow cooker. 2. Clean chicken and pat dry with paper towel. 3. Rub with poultry seasoning or spices of choice. 4. Place quartered onion and crushed garlic inside of chicken 5. Position chicken on aluminum foil balls in slow cooker. 6. Pour red wine in bottom of slow cooker and cover. 7. Cook on high for 1 hour and then on low for 8-10 hours or until juices run clear and chicken is no longer pink. You could also use a meat thermometer. |
