This recipe is from Lisa Shively,a local celebrity. These beans are a nice side dish with hot dogs or hamburgers. Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef |
4 16oz cans baked beans-drain 2 of them |
1 4oz can green chili peppers |
1 small onion-chopped |
1 cup barbeque sauce |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 tablespoon chili powder |
1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce |
Directions:
1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef. 2. Drain and transfer to your crock. 3. Add remaining ingredients. 4. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2 hours. 5. Note: 6. Sometimes I use ground pork sausage in place of the beef. When I don't have green chili peppers on hand,I use 1/2 cup of chopped green bell peppers instead. Enjoy. |
