Slow Cooker Apricot-almond Oatmeal

Use a small slow cooker for this oatmeal;a large one won't produce the same consistency.Very tasty.
Ingredients:
8 c water
2 c steel-cut oats
2 c chopped dried apricots
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp packed lt. brown sugar
1/2 c sliced almonds,toasted as desired
Directions:
1. Combine water,oats,apricots,cinnamon and salt in 3-4 qt. slow cooker. Cook,covered on low 6 hours. Stir in brown sugar;let stand 5 mins. Serve topped with almonds
2. Note: (Oatmeal can be made 1 week ahead. Cover and refrigerate.Reheat in microwave until warm)
