I have been experimenting a lot with my slow cooker lately, and I am loving using it for the meat for our Sunday roasts. This beef is so tender and full of flavour, We love it! For a super easy, yummy gravy, combine 3TB gravy powder with 3/4c of the the liquid from the crockpot after cooking. Top up to 2c with boiling water, microwave for 1 minute. It ends up as a silky, rick, delicious gravy! Ingredients:
1 piece beef roast |
2 large onions, peeled and cut in half |
1 garlic clove, crushed |
1/4 cup tomato sauce |
1 cup merlot (or other red wine) |
1/2 cup beef stock |
1 teaspoon mixed herbs |
Directions:
1. Place onions in bottom of crockpot, and place the piece of beef on top. 2. Combine garlic, sauce, wine, and stock in a small jug, and pour over the beef. 3. Sprinkle herbs on top, and cook on low for 4 hours, or until done to your liking., basting frequently with the liquid from the crockpot. 4. Serve with roasted vegetables and yorkshire pudding. |
