Slow Cook Sweet Italian Sausage Links & Fresh Vegetables

A great change from jar sauce & vegetables you may have in your refrigerator. Preparation time is about 30 minutes to cut vegetables for the Crock Pot and 15 minutes for the Pasta. Cooking time is 5-6 hours. The spices are whatever your family likes! We love garlic. Fresh, dried, or roasted. Easy recipe and a big hit at Our house.
Ingredients:
6 links sweet italian sausages
3 medium tomatoes
1/3 cup vidalia onion
1 stalk celery
1 red pepper (large)
8 -10 ounces baby carrots
8 -10 ounces fresh green beans, trimmed. about 2
1/4 cup chicken broth
1/4-1/2 teaspoon garlic
1/4-1/2 teaspoon dried red pepper
1/4-1/2 teaspoon sun-dried tomato
1/4 teaspoon basil
8 ounces penne pasta
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
Directions:
1. Cut up all the vegetables into small peices 2 or less, except baby carrots Everything goes into your Crock Pot as your cut it.Stir everything a few times. Turn crock pot on high for the 1st hour. Turn down to Low and cook for 5-6 hours. I thawed some frozen rolls after I started the crock pot & 30 minutes before I served dinner I baked the rolls & started boiling water for Penne Pasta. Cook Pasta 11 minutes from the time it comes to a boil after adding pasta. The Sauce was the best I ever ate. Serve over top Penne Pasta.
