From the American Diabetes Association. lean ground beef, onion, garlic cloves, tomato sauce, water, tomatoes, yellow mustard, worcestershire sauce, salt, ground black pepper, whole-wheat hamburger buns cvt
Ingredients:
3/4 lb 90% lean ground beef (23565) or ground turkey, net from 1 lb fresh
1/2 cup onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
8 oz tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
180 g (1 cup diced) tomatoes, fresh or canned; if canned, drain
1 tbsp yellow mustard
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper, ground black
258 g (six) whole-wheat hamburger buns
Directions:
1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat for approximately 5 minutes. Drain fat.
2. Add onions and cook 3 minutes or until onions begin to turn clear. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
3. Add remaining ingredients except buns and simmer for 10 minutes.
4. Serve on whole-wheat buns.
