Ingredients:
2 tablespoon(s) butter |
2 1/2 pound(s) ground beef |
1/2 whole(s) onion diced |
1 whole(s) green bell pepper diced |
5 clove(s) garlic minced |
1 1/2 cup(s) ketchup |
1 cup(s) water |
2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar |
2 teaspoon(s) chili powder, or to taste |
1 teaspoon(s) dry mustard |
1/2 teaspoon(s) red pepper flakes, or more to taste |
worchestershire sauce to taste |
2 tablespoon(s) tomato paste |
optional tobasco sauce to taste |
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste |

Directions:
1. Add butter to a large skillet or dutch oven over medium high heat. 2. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Drain most of the fat and 3. discard. 4. Add onions, green pepper, and garlic. Cook for a few minutes, or 5. until vegetables begin to get soft. 6. Add ketchup, brown sugar, chili pepper, dry mustard, and water. 7. Stir to combine and simmer for 15 minutes, adding salt and pepper 8. to taste. Also add tomato paste, Worcestershire, and Tabasco if 9. desired. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. 10. Spread rolls with butter and brown on a griddle or skillet. Spoon 11. meat mixture over the rolls, topping with a slice of cheese if it makes 12. your skirt fly up. Serve hot with kettle cooked chips! |
