Serve this with a crisp salad and call it a meal. Enjoy Ingredients:
sloppy joe turnovers |
1 pound - lean ground beef |
1 cup - onion, chopped |
1/4 cup - ketchup |
2 tablespoons - chili sauce |
1 teaspoon - cider vinegar |
1 (12 oz) can - refrigerated biscuits |
Directions:
1. Cook ground beef and onion in a large skillet over medium heat, 2. stirring frequently, until beef is browned and crumbly and onion 3. is tender, about 8 minutes. Drain. 4. Add ketchup, chili sauce and vinegar to beef and onion; mix 5. well. Cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Cool 15 minutes. 6. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees. Separate dough into 10 7. biscuits. Press or roll each biscuit on lightly floured surface 8. to a 6-inch round. 9. Spoon about 1/4 cup beef mixture onto half of each round. Fold 10. round in half over filling. Press edges together carefully to 11. seal. Place on baking sheet. 12. Bake turnover until golden, 15-18 minutes. Serve warm. 13. * It is important to let the beef mixture cool; if the filling 14. is too hot, it can melt the biscuits. |
