Recipe to try found in a pasta recipe book. It was ok, Next time we might a can of manwich instead of the dry envelope. *Note* No matter what way I type it out, Zaar consistently adds Manwich in front of Sloppy Joe Seasoning, this recipe calls for a DRY seasoning envelope, don't think Manwich makes those. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 (1 ounce) envelope manwich sloppy joe mix |
1 cup water |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
1 (7 ounce) package small shell pasta (cooked) |
1 cup cottage cheese |
1 cup shredded cheese |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350*. 2. In a large sauce pan cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink. 3. Stir in sloppy joe mix, water, tomato sauce & tomato paste. 4. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5-8 minutes; remove from heat, stir in pasta. 5. Spoon half into a greased 2 1/2 quart baking dish;top with cottage cheese then add remaining pasta mixture;sprinkle with cheddar cheese. 6. bake uncovered 350* for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and cheese is melted. |
