This recipe came from a magazine clipping, this takes the SLOPPY away from SLOPPY JOES. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef (at least 80%) |
1/4 cup ketchup |
1 (1 1/3-1 1/2 ounce) package sloppy joe seasoning mix |
6 slices american cheese |
6 hamburger buns, split |
Directions:
1. Heat gas or charcoal grill. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ketchup and sloppy joe seasoning mix; mix gently. Shape into 6 patties. 2. When grill is heated carefully oil grill rack. Place patties on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4-6 inches from medium coals. Cover grill; cook 13-15 minutes turning once. During last one or two minutes place cheese on patties; cook until melted. Serve patties on buns. |
