Sloppy Joes w/ an added twist...more veggies!!!
Ingredients:
1 yellow onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 lb ground turkey or 1 lb chicken
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce, unsalted
1 (15 ounce) can whole tomatoes, crushed
1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
1/4 cup barbecue sauce or 1 tablespoon brown sugar
6 whole wheat buns, split in half to make 12
Directions:
1. 1. Sauté onions, carrots, green pepper and ground turkey or chicken in a pan over medium heat for 5 minutes.
2. 2. Add tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, mushrooms, barbecue sauce and.
