Great liquour made from fresh plums, cherries or other fruits. A traditional drink treat in Ukraine, Russia & Belorus. Ingredients:
8 cups vodka, unflavored |
2 1/2 lbs plums, ripened |
4 cups sugar |
Directions:
1. *NOTE: You may use cherries, or peaches or 2. apricots for this as well. 3. Halve plums but do not remove pits. 4. Place plums in a large crock or large jar. 5. Layer them with the sugar as you place them into your 6. container. 7. Pour in your vodka. 8. Cover well, place in a cool, dark location. 9. Turn plums every 3 days for 6 weeks. 10. Decant plums. 11. Strain liquid & bottle for use as a beverage or as a liqueur. 12. You can use the plums as well if you wish or discard them. |
