A scrumptious slice, filled with gooey caramel Ingredients:
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup whole wheat flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup desiccated coconut (shredded) |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon instant coffee |
1 teaspoon vanilla essence |
125 g melted butter |
50 g butter |
395 g condensed milk |
2 tablespoons golden syrup |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 180°C. 2. Prepare slice by combining ingredients and press 2/3 of mixture into greased swiss roll tin. 3. Prepare filling by combining ingredients in a saucepan and bringing gently to the boil. Take care not to burn. Spread evenly over the slice base. 4. Sprinkle remaining 1/3 base mix over the top of the slice in a crumble-style. 5. Bake for 30-40 minutes. 6. Slice when cool. |
