This make me think of Durmus Walker about slaw burger fries and a bottle of tea Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef |
1 medium onion, diced |
12 ounces barbecue sauce |
12 ounces water |
5 to 6 tablespoons brown sugar |
buns |
zippy cole slaw (recipe below) |
Directions:
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and onion in a little shortening. Add barbecue sauce, water and brown sugar. Bring to boil; simmer for 2 hours. 2. Serve on buns, topped with Zippy Cole Slaw. 3. If you prefer a more traditional burger, be advised that the slaw serves any burger well. 4. Zippy Cole Slaw 5. 1 medium-size head red cabbage, trimmed, quartered and cored 6. 1 fresh jalapeño chile, sliced (seeds optional) 7. 2 garlic cloves 8. 3 tablespoons cider vinegar 9. 1 teaspoon mustard seed, crushed 10. 1/2 teaspoon celery seed, crushed 11. 2 teaspoons salt 12. Pinch of sugar 13. Pinch of cayenne pepper 14. 1/4 cup vegetable oil 15. 2 tablespoons sour cream 16. Shred cabbage finely in a food processor. Remove to a large serving bowl. 17. About 1 hour before serving, toss the cabbage with the dressing, taste, and if necessary, adjust with more salt, sugar and / or vinegar. 19. Serve on burgers, or as a side salad. |
