SKIPPER’S GRAPE NUTS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Van Sickle Estate in Mabank, Texas in 1990.
Ingredients:
3 cups graham flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in large mixing bowl then beat until smooth.
2. Spread dough onto 2 large greased baking sheets and bake 30 minutes at 350.
3. When still warm break into chunks and whirl briefly in blender 1 cup at a time.
4. Crisp in 250 oven for 30 minutes then store in airtight container.
