The Dieter's Cookbook 1982... Exchanges... = 2 1/2 lean meat 1 1/2 bread 1 1/2 vegetable 1 1/2 fat Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (15% fat) |
3 cups water |
1 (18 ounce) can tomato juice |
6 ounces tomato paste |
2 tablespoons onions, minced and dried |
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon garlic salt |
1 teaspoon oregano, dried crushed |
7 ounces spaghetti, dried |
7 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. In large skillet combine ground beef, the water, tomato juice, tomato pasted, minced dried onion, chili powder, salt, garlic salt, and oregano. 2. Bring to boil. Simmer, covered,30 minutes; stir often. 3. Add the uncooked spaghetti; simmer, covered, 30 minute Stir often. Serve wit the grated parmesan. |
