3rd place winner submitted by Josephine Seymour. I found this recipe in The Evening Time Holiday Cookbook newspaper. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1/2 cup seasoned stuffing mix |
1 small onion, finely chopped |
1 egg |
10 3/4 ounces condensed tomato soup, divided |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
1/4 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine the beef, stuffing mix, onion, egg, 1/4 cup soup and the salt, mix well. Shape into four oval patties about 1/2 -inch thick. 2. Heat the oil in medium skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and brown on both sides; drain if necessary. 3. Stir the water and italian seasoning into remaining soup and pour over the browned patties. 4. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or until pink remains in the beef, stirring the sauce occasionally. |
