Balsamic vinegar and onion give this dish a savory note that's perfect with grilled chicken or pan-fried pork chops. It's also delicious sprinkled with lightly salted, roasted pecans. Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter |
2 large sweet onions, sliced |
5 large granny smith apples, peeled and sliced (about 2 1/4 lb.) |
2/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar |
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat; add onions, and sauté 5 minutes. Add apples, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar, and sauté 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender. |
