This hearty family favorite is a cinch to make on busy weeknights. Round out the meal with a tossed salad and reduced-fat chocolate chip cookies. Ingredients:
1 (14-ounce) package light deluxe macaroni and cheese dinner mix with cheese sauce packet (such as kraft) |
1 pound ground round |
1 cup chopped onion |
1 teaspoon dried italian seasoning |
1 (14.5-ounce) can no-salt-added diced tomatoes, undrained |
Directions:
1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain; rinse under hot water, and drain. Set aside, and keep warm. Set cheese sauce packet aside. 2. Cook beef and onion in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until beef is browned, stirring to crumble. Add Italian seasoning, cooked macaroni, reserved cheese sauce packet, and tomatoes; cook over medium heat until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally. |
