I found this recipe in Good Housekeeping. I have not tried these beans. Ingredients:
3 slices bacon, chopped |
1/2 large sweet onion, chopped |
30 -38 ounces pinto beans or 30 -38 ounces pink beans, rinsed and drained |
3/4 cup barbecue sauce |
1/4 cup water |
1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard |
Directions:
1. In 12-inch skillet, cook bacon, on medium 4 minutes. Add sweet onion, and cook 8 minutes or until onion is tender and lightly browned. Add beans, barbecue sauce, water, and mustard. 2. Simmer, uncovered, on medium-low 5 minutes to blend flavors and thicken slightly. |
