If you want to roast extra garlic cloves, add some more to the pan and freeze them for later use. Ingredients:
1 pound boneless top sirloin steak (1 inch thick) |
1 teaspoon dried thyme |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
cooking spray |
8 large garlic cloves, unpeeled |
1/3 cup low-salt beef broth |
fresh thyme (optional) |
Directions:
1. Preheat broiler. 2. Sprinkle both sides of steak with thyme, salt, and pepper. Place steak on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray; arrange garlic cloves around steak. Broil steak and garlic 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness. Transfer steak to a cutting board; cover loosely with foil to keep warm. 3. Cut off bottom of each garlic clove. Squeeze out soft garlic into a food processor; process until smooth. Add broth; process until combined. Transfer garlic sauce to a microwave-safe dish. Microwave at HIGH 40 seconds. 4. Cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices; spoon garlic sauce over steak. Garnish with fresh thyme, if desired. 5. carbo rating: 2 |
