Sin amon French Toast Crunch |

Crunchy on the outside and goey and sinful on the inside. This is my absolute favorite french toast recipe. Uses crushed up cereal I've tried several kinds: cinnamon toast crunch, frosted flakes, shredded mini wheats, but Life is my favorite! Ingredients:
2 eggs, lightly beaten |
1 cup milk or 1 cup cream |
1/4 teaspoon vanilla |
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon |
8 slices thick cut bread |
1 cup life cereal, finely crushed (or whatever cereal you have on hand, can use food processor, but i just use the smashed up bits) |
1 tablespoon butter, for pan |
Directions:
1. Add butter to skillit or griddle and place over medium heat. 2. Crush cereal and place in pie plate. 3. Make Custard: combine beaten eggs, cream, vanilla and cinnamon ( I also use a pie plate for this step) 4. Add slices of bread let them mingle in the custard for a few minutes flip and repeat. 5. Dip yummy custard bread into crunchy cereal. 6. Place in buttery pan cook until golden brown (should only take a few minutes) flip and repeat. 7. I enjoy mine dusted with powdered sugar and whip cream, but they are also great with syrup or even just plain! |
