Ingredients:
2 pints strawberries, washed and hulled |
sugar, optional |
balsamic or raspberry vinegar, optional |
red wine, optional |
freshly ground black pepper, optional |
creme fraiche, sour cream, yogurt cheese or whipped cream, optional |
Directions:
1. Leave strawberries whole or cut in half, depending upon size. Taste the strawberries and sweeten if necessary. Either toss with 1 to 2 tablespoons of vinegar and dust with freshly ground black pepper. 2. Or marinate in 1/4 cup of red wine with sugar and serve. 3. Or serve sugared only and topped with creme fraiche or other cream options. 4. Or puree 1 pint of strawberries and sweeten with sugar and toss with other pint of strawberries left whole or halved. |
