Simple pasta sauce Ingredients:
3 (28 ounce) cans tomato sauce |
1 (12 ounce) can tomato paste |
96 ounces water (enough to fill the empty cans) |
2 -3 garlic cloves, crushed |
1 teaspoon salt (to taste) |
1 -2 bay leaf |
1 tablespoon sugar (to taste) |
2 teaspoons dry basil |
1 teaspoon dried parsley |
1 dash nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients. 2. Bring to rolling boil for 30 minutes. 3. If desired, add meat such as Italian sausage, meatballs, veal or pork neck bones, etc. 4. Simmer for 1-1.5 hours. |
