Simple Lemon Glaze For Cakes |

I modified a glaze based on Chefjeb's orange glaze and just substituted flour for corn starch and lemon for orange. It was a nice glaze, good for an already sweet or moist cake. Ingredients:
1/4 cup lemon juice |
1 teaspoon lemon zest, finely chopped |
1/2 cup water |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/4 cup water |
3 1/2 tablespoons flour (or 2 tablespoons corn starch) |
Directions:
1. Heat lemon juice, lemon zest and 1/2 cup of water until it simmers 2. Slowly add sugar, stirring until it dissolves 3. Separately, mix flour and 1/4 cup of water until smooth 4. Slowly add flour/water mix to lemon juice, stirring 5. Cook for about 4 minutes to let glaze thicken, stirring occasionally |
