Simple, delicious tangy Middle Eastern dip. Great served with pita bread and crudities or used as a sandwich spread. You can add crushed red peppers to taste for a spicier dip. Ingredients:
1 (19 ounce) can chickpeas, drained (save the liquid to thin hummus as desired) |
1/4 cup liquid (from can of chick peas or water) |
1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste) |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
2 garlic cloves |
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin (optional) |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Pour everything in the blender or food processor and blend until very smooth. Top with drizzle of olive oil and chopped parsley, can sprinkle with paprika. |
