Simple Crock-Pot Carnitas |

Easy recipe with few ingredients to get flavorful, delicious carnitas. This does not have the citrus flavor of many carnitas recipes. After I remove my meat from the Crock Pot, I crisp it up a little under the broiler. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon dried chipotle powder |
2 teaspoons cumin |
2 teaspoons garlic powder |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon onion powder |
3 lbs country-style boneless pork ribs |
Directions:
1. Combine spices and seasonings in a small bowl; rub into pork. (I then let it sit at room temp for about 15 minutes, though I don't really know if this helps). 2. Place in Crock Pot and cook on low 8 to 10 hours. Chop or shred meat, and stir in a little of the cooking liquid to moisten. 3. Great for tacos, burritos, tortas and more! |
