Simple Country Blackberry Cobbler |

I made this recipe as a kid due to the huge blackberry patch my grandparents had in their backyard Ingredients:
3 cups blackberries |
1 1/2 cups cream |
2 cups sugar, divided |
1/4 cup merlot |
1 tablespoon almond extract |
1 cup milk |
1 cup flour |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg |
1 teaspoon ginger |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan add blackberries, cream,wine one cup of the sugar, the extract and spices and bring to a boil. reduce heat and simmer until reduced, stirring often. 2. Pour berries unto bottom of a greased casserole dish. 3. Mix together remaining cup of sugar with flour and milk and spread over top of berry mixture. 4. Bake for 1 hour on 400 degrees or until bubbly and top is golden brown. |
