SIMPLE BRAISED GREENS WITH GARLIC This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Baxter Estate in Euless, Texas in 1989. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil |
2 bunches fresh summer greens washed and coarsely chopped |
2 cloves garlic chopped |
1/8 cup vegetable broth |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
chopped almonds for garnish |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat then add greens and garlic stirring to coat with oil. 2. Stir occasionally until greens are barely wilted. 3. Add vegetable broth and stir allowing greens to steam until barely tender then season with salt. 4. Serve topped with chopped almonds. |
