Fannie Farmer says: Only firm, tart cooking apples bake well. Ingredients:
4 apples |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400* F. 2. Core apples and place in a baking dish 3. Blend sugar with spices; spoon an equal amunt into each apple. 4. Cover bottom of baking dish with 1/4 inch boiling water. 5. Bake until soft (30 minutes or more). 6. Several times during baking, spoon pan juices over apples. |
