My family has been making this recipe for years, and it's different and delicious! I like it because it has variety of textures and the taste is unbelievable as well. I do admit to using most recipes as a base so feel free to experiment with it to suit your taste. Ingredients:
6 -8 ounces macaroni, cooked according to directions |
3 cups cabbage, finely shredded (angel hair slaw mix works very well) |
1/2 cup celery, chopped |
1 green pepper, chopped (optional) |
2 tablespoons onions, minced |
1 1/2 cups fresh shrimp, boiled and rough chopped |
1/4 cup vegetable oil |
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Combine macaroni, vegetables and shrimp. Mix remaining ingredients and add to macaroni/cabbage/shrimp mixture. Add mayonaise if needed, or desired, to suit your taste. Refrigerate for a couple hours to let the flavors get happy. Serve. |
