This is a copycat version of the orange seafood sauce they serve at my local Japanese steakhouse. It's almost exactly like theirs and goes fabulously with sautéed shrimp. I even used it as a dressing on po' boy sandwiches - delish. Cook time includes overnight refrigeration. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups mayonnaise |
1/4 cup water |
1 teaspoon tomato paste |
1 tablespoon butter, melted |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
3/4 teaspoon sugar |
1/4 teaspoon paprika |
1 dash cayenne pepper |
Directions:
1. Whisk all ingredients together in a non-metal bowl until sauce is smooth. 2. Refrigerate overnight to blend flavors. 3. Cook's Note: This sauce really doesn't taste quite right unless it's refrigerated for about 8 hours. |
