These are great as an appetizer or at tea Ingredients:
10 slices white or wheat bread |
2 tblsp. butter, melted |
1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves |
12 oz. cooked shrimp,chopped, or minis from a can are cute |
1/2 c. cojack cheese, finely shredded |
1/3 c. real mayo |
salt to taste |
Directions:
1. preheat the broiler 2. trim the crusts from the bread, then cut into 20 shapes, 2 in. round cookie cutter, triangles, etc... 3. tear enough of the bread trimmings into fine crumbs to measure 1/2 c., set aside 4. mix butter and thyme, brush evenly onto the bread cutouts, place in a single layer on an ungreased baking sheet 5. broil about 2 min. or until golden brown 6. mix together bread crumbs, shrimp, cheese, mayo and salt 7. spoon onto toasted cutouts 8. Broil another 8-10 minutes or until hot and bubbly |
