Shrimp And Spinach Chowder

This is a lovely, rich and creamy, filling soup. A keeper. I can't remember which magazine I got it from.
Ingredients:
4 cups chicken broth
3/4 cup minced onion
3/4 cup slivered carrot
8 cloves minced garlic
1 lb red potatoes, cut in small wedges
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp nutmeg
6 t unsalted butter
1/4 cup flour
1 cup milk
8 cups fresh spinach (i used 2 bags of baby spinach)
1/2 - 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup cream
Directions:
1. Bring broth just to a boil then add next 6 ingredients and simmer for 20 minutes.
2. Melt butter over low heat; whisk in flour; whisk in milk and cook 2 minutes. Add to soup.
3. Add shrimp then spinach and cream. Heat through on very low, about 5-10 minutes.
4. May garnish with red bell pepper curls.
